Internationally recognised as the foremost provider of quality education in fine art, design and architecture. Appropriately Charles Rennie Mackintosh, who was a graduate of the school, designed the building after winning a competition to design the new School of Art. Professor Sir Christopher Rayling once said of the building that it is "the only art school in the world where the building is worthy of the subject".

Glasgow School of Art enjoys a long history of producing successful artists, designers and architects, giving the school the reputation it deserves as one of the best art schools in the world. Glasgow School a=of Art invites students from all over the world, while also playing an important part in the creative communities and industries of Glasgow.

There are always exhibitions within the campus of the Art School in Glasgow spread across its four galleries. Admission is free and the exhibits themselves are designed to appeal to students of the school and the public alike. Work from internationally recognised artists and designers are displayed as well as work from undergraduates here at the school.

For those who are interested in studying at the Glasgow School of Art there is an open day in October each year. This is the perfect opportunity to come and meet teachers and professors from the school and also students who are currently studying there. You will also be able to visit the studios and view some of the coursework that the current students have produced.

Glasgow School of Art is located very near the city centre of Glasgow. Only 5 minutes walk from the busy shopping and nightlife Mecca that is Sauchiehall Street. It is 20 minutes walk from Glasgow Central Station and also Queen Street station. Easily accessible from Glasgow airport the Glasgow School of Art is only a 20-minute drive along the M8 motorway. The nearest car parks are located at Cambridge Street and Concert Square (next to Buchanan Street Bus Station).
