Theatre first opened its doors in 1904, its aim was to provide wholesome
family entertainment at an inexpensive cost, since then it has continually
done this and has gone from strength to strength.
The theatre has an 1800 seating capacity and has some of the most
stunning architecture in Glasgow. With mahogany roofs and marble floors
it is an exquisite place internally as well as externally.
The pavilion is most well known for its famous pantomimes which run
throughout the year and are especially popular at Christmas time,
there are however numerous other shows to enjoy.
The Pavilion Theatre has seen some of the biggest names in the industry
on its stage including, Billy Connolly who had a sell out tour 1970's
which actually broke records for the amount of tickets that were sold.
Also many popular actors and actresses have performed there.
When the theatre first opened there was a certain dress code which
had to be followed, these days however it is more relaxed. A trip
to the theatre is the perfect way to spend a relaxing evening, whether
you are in town for a while and are looking for a peaceful time out.
Due to the central location of The pavilion Theatre you will also
find many bars and great restaurants nearby and you can enjoy a nice
meal and refreshment either before or after your choice of show, genuinely
a great time to be had by all.
